Saturday 14th September 2013 VERY BUSY DAY IN BATH ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR TRAVEL

To take part in the Promenade you MUST have a wristband ticket and be dressed in costume
NEW ROUTE AND START POINT:-
The Promenade will depart at 11am sharp from the Royal Crescent lawn
and finish at Parade Gardens, near Bath Abbey approximately 90 minutes later.

Tickets in the form of a wristband are on sale from our online giftshop ONLY.

Why not join the 600 people (ticket entry only restricted numbers this year) dressed in Regency Costume for this world famous spectacular official opening to the Festival. Departing, with kind permission of the residents, from Royal Crescent lawn, accompanied by red coats and navy officers and led by our own town crier and drums we will certainly “be of all the consequence in our power, draw as many eyes, excite as many whispers, and disturb as many people as possible!” The Promenade lasts about 90 minues and ends in Parade Gardens near Bath Abbey.

Tickets to take part are: £10 Adult (under 16 years old free) No Concessions

 

*Proposed Route:-

Royal Crescent down the gravel walk  left into Queen’s Parade Place > left up Gay Street > left around the Circus clockwise > Bennett Street > past the front of the Assembly Rooms > left along Alfred Street > right into and down Bartlett Street > emerge on high pavement in George Street > Cross George Street at the pedestrian crossing into Milsom Street > Walk on right hand pavement down Milsom Street > Cross Quiet Street > into Old Bond Street cross into Union Street > cross Cheap Street > down Stall Street > right into Bath Street > into Hot Bath Street > into Beau Street > left into Stall Street > right into York Street > across Abbey Churchyard between Abbey and Tourist Information past Kingston Buildings > Laura Fountain > Orange Grove > cross at Orange Grove to North Parade and then into Parade Gardens Finish.

*Please note we reserve the right to change the route at the last minute to take into account road, pavement  and weather conditions on the day.
